Megan Amanda was born in Charleston, SC on July 20, 1995.  She has been dancing since she was old enough to walk.  Megan Amanda at age 5 performed in her first Nutcracker at The Henegar Center for the Arts.  This was presented by Ballet Esprit.  Megan Amanda danced with Ballet Esprit for the next year and a half.  She performed on stage, at public libraries, schools, and retirement homes.  She found her love of dancing was magnified by her desire to dance for those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to see a ballet.  Megan Amanda studies the Vaganova method of classical ballet. In December of 2001 Megan Amanda began dancing with the newly arrived Russian dancers Boris Chepelev and his wife Janna Kirova.  They are professionals having danced as soloists with the Kirov Ballet.  They are magnificent teachers and directors of Space Coast Ballet and Kirova Ballet.   Megan Amanda attended their Summer Intensive in July of 2002 ending the 2 weeks with a spectacular Gala "The Making of a Ballet" on her 7th birthday.  Guest Faculty, Viktor Kabaniaev and Tina Kay from Diablo Ballet made her training experience even more valuable.

Megan Amanda moved to Maryland in September of 2002.  She took classes at the Kintz-Mejia Academy in Tyson's Corner, Virginia and in Maryland with Olga Tozyiakova and Vyacheslav Mesropov.   When traveling between Washington,DC and Florida Megan Amanda takes classes with Mara Mier at Ballet Academy of Charleston. 

Megan Amanda was awarded a scholarship to cover the cost of her Summer Intensive at Melbourne Ballet Center in 2003 and 2004 by the Agneta Liljedahl Ballet Scholarship Fund.  A special thanks to Magnus Liljedahl as well as a great appreciation for his late wife Agneta who the scholarship honor.

March 6, 2004 Megan Amanda was invited to attend the Kirov Academy for the Summer Sessions and the 2004 - 2005 school year. She trained under Madame Armeiskaya and Vladimir Djouloukhadze at the Kirov Academy 4 hours a day 6 days a week. Fall of 2006 Megan Amanda returned to Melbourne, Florida when her father was transferred to study full time with Janna Kirova and Boris Chepelev. In February of 2007 she participated in Youth America Grand Prix regionals in Orlando, Florida and received the Hope Award. Megan Amanda moved back to the DC area Fall of 2008. She is continuing her training at Kirov Academy under Artistic Director Marat Daukayev and teacher Madame Marianna Lobanova.
